Commons

Brown's Commons was officially dedicated on January 17, 2003. It was built to replace the old Commons, which was turned into a student health center. This is a good thing: not only do we get a really cool place to eat and hold parties, but if you get sick, you don't even have to go outside to see a doctor or nurse practitioner.

The main dining room of the Commons is where students eat and where public parties are held. Banners celebrating Brown's intramural success are also displayed in the Commons. While you can eat anywhere on campus, what Brown student wouldn't want to eat here?

There is also a lounge at the front of the commons with a piano, comfortable couches, a large television, and a computer terminal. The commons is connected to Rice's north servery, which additionally serves Jones College and Martel (which, despite statements to the contrary, is not a college). Between Brown and Jones is the Fairy Fountain, an integral part of Brown's birthday festivities. There is also a lounge at the front of the Commons with a piano, comfortable couches, a big-screen television, and a computer terminal.
